Winding Down Our Visit

Saturday 13 July 2019 marked the last full day of our visit to Mahe. The assembly began the day. I taught one more English class as Gerald and Rathnakaran planned some Desmos-related math activities.

And I had my ride on a Royal Enfield motorcycle. I was, as Gerald said, “in my happy place.”

Riding a Royal Enfield

We traveled along the coast and visited the Muzhappilangad Beach on the Arabian Sea. We toured the Kannur St. Angelo Fort, constructed by the Portuguese as a trading center in the 15th century. We finished the day with an eco-tour boat ride before dropping off Peter Boller at the Kannur Airport.

In Thalassery, we stopped to buy cell phones and enjoyed fresh juice with Rathnakaran and Sajeevan.

Here are some photos of the day:

  • I love your writing, Bill. You were with us as a member of our own family. Thank you for your class on 14th morning. I wanted Sindhu to attend your class as she missed it on 8th and 9th. We could not visit the temple and see elephants due to paucity of time.

    • I’m so proud to have become a member of the JNV family. It truly has been a life-changing experience.

    Dear Bill
As such a kind person and scholar that you are, it is so fitting that every wherever you go you are accepted with open arms
    A great blessing indeed

  • Jain: So good to hear from you. Thank you for sending such kind words. Yes, the acceptance and love I have experienced on this trip has touched me in more ways than I can imagine. Amazing things have happened to me because I’ve opened myself to possibilities. —Bill
